Digital? But secure! IT security in small and medium-sized enterprises in Baden-Württemberg
Whetherdata theft, industrial espionage or sabotage -cyber attacks are a threat to companies that should not be underestimated. This makes it all the more important for companies - especially in view of the advancing digitalisation - to defend themselves effectively against unwanted access and manipulation from outside and to protect their own data.
The majority of companies in Baden-Württemberg are already convinced of the relevance of IT security, according to a survey conducted by the DIZ | Digital Innovation Centre. According to the survey, two thirds of all companies surveyed ascribe great importance to the topic. The "human factor" is increasingly becoming a focal point, as threats have long been caused not only by external attacks, but also - whether consciously or unconsciously - by employees themselves. In the study "Competences for digital sovereignty" commissioned by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, a full 86 per cent of companies in Germany stated that they are paying more attention to this in their IT security concepts.
